Senior Capstone
My senior thesis at the School of Interior Design at LSU marks the culmination of my education. It spans two semesters, starting with ID4270 Seminar in Interior Design and ending with ID4754 Interior Design Studio V.
This self-directed project involves identifying a problem, proposing a solution, and testing that solution through my project design. In ID4720, I’ll complete the proposal, which outlines the problem and solution. During the spring semester, I’ll focus on testing my solution through the design process.
The thesis begins with identifying a problem or question related to human behavior and the interior environment, not by selecting a project type. From there, I’ll choose a location, an existing building for adaptive reuse, and develop a project program.

My chosen thesis was on the reimagining the American design of assisted living and memory care centers.

I present to you, the Crest Community.

3 Bluebirds Farm
This project was completed while I was interning in the summer of 2022 at Stantec in Chicago. I had the opportunity to collaborate with all students interning for Stantec all over the nation and Canada too. We were given a real life client and project. The name of the project was 3 Bluebirds Farm. This is a community North Carolina that serves as not only residential spaces for adults with autism but also as a day camp for youth and adults with autism. It is a safe space where people on the spectrum can live meaningful lives, thrive, and continue to grow. The interns and I were split into several groups to brainstorm different ideas and plan for the clients wants and needs. My team was composed of 9 interns from both the U.S. and Canada. We met about twice a week on Microsoft Teams calls to work collaboratively. My team specifically was tasked with creating "Part B" of the plan. This being
the sensory garden, events barn, adult & teen programming buildings, woodworking & art/pottery, nature walk, and the existing pond. All the while, making sure the whole build and feel was that of a barn.

LSU BOYCE GALLERY:
TEAM LIGHITNG REDESIGN
The project was focused on reimagining the lighting
solution for the Boyce Gallery located in the
College of Art & Design at Louisiana State
University. The gallery is named after Clark and
Laura Boyce and is used as a space to showcase
art and design from students and faculty to
highlight their achievements in the program.

My partner for this project, Bella Godchaux and I, worked together to create a presentation as well as a model for our redesign proposal.

SPRING STUDIO: LIGHITNG PROJECT
This project was completed in my spring studio course which was led by lighting designer, Suzan Tillotson
founder and president of Tillotson Design Associates in NYC.

The project called to consider the
atmospheres, moods and lighting found in the stairwell of our very own design building. The process began with a group effort to study the effects of dusk, day and night on the stairwell as well as create a model to study before personal projects took place. The final redesign was to fully create a sense of brain stimulation to all wandering throughout the stairwell.
MoMA Redesign
The MoMA project entailed redesigning the lobby, entrance and shop of the museum in the famous Manhattan, New York. The project was led and created by lighting designer, Suzane Tollotson, who was named the 2022 Nadine Carter Russel Chair for the College of Art & Design at LSU. She guided us in focusing the project on mainly lighting, along with space planning, color and material choices. My design was to essentially integrate a "show before the show". In this was, the visitors will experience something fresh, stimulating, and interactive.

Living Building Challenge:
Team Research Project
In this research course, my classmates and I were divided into teams to identify a topic, condition or issue related to our semester long study of health and
wellbeing in the interior environment that is of personal, academic, or professional interest to our team.

Much of this work was completed independently. The final submission is represented by an informative poster board, that investigates and analyzes our
topic, illustrated in a way that is visually compelling and accessible to a diverse audience.

Electric Depot Revamp
The Electric Depot project called for a neighborhood adaptive reuse effort that responded to the need for a multi-income family housing complex. The building used was Baton Rouge’s first power plant, which was built back in the early 1900s. This alone stressed the importance of the history of this building. Comprising two buildings married together, the project involved re-designing three of the five floors found in the Electric Depot’s so-called “Red Stick Social” building which is currently used as an event and gaming space. The challenge was to provide living space of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments as well as a terrace and community space.

Red Stick Hogan
The Red Stick Hogan is a build constructed of three shipping containers to create a space for a couple that is wanting to mesh work and home life and also infuse some of their Navajo culture into it.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge is a non-profit, Christian-based housing ministry that works in partnership with deserving, low-income families, and the community to eliminate poverty housing through building simple, livable homes. The site assigned for this project is located on 2446 Edgewood Drive in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The chosen site is located in a simple and small-scaled neighborhood surrounded by various trees at all edges of the corner block where the house stands.

Modeling
Throughout my studies so far, I have delve into the world of modeling, mainly with chipboard. Click the slides to see how my models have helped me create visuals for my projects.

Building Systems
In the Fall of 2020, I had the opportunity to take a Building Systems course offered in the Interior Design program at Louisiana State University. The final project was to construct a home with keeping in mind much about the details that go into the building of a structure.

Construction Documents & Detailing
Over my semesters, I have been able to delve into the world of construction documents and architectural drawings. In the Fall of 2021 specifically, I had the opportunity to take a course focused on construction documents, click the bubble to see the whole set for my final project.
